CPFD offers voluntary, non-enforcement home visits for:

  • Identify potential hazards

  • Answer questions and provide guidance

The basics

Safe Sleep Basics

We educate families on nationally recommended safe sleep practices, including:

  • Placing babies on their backs for every sleep

  • Using a firm, flat sleep surface (crib, bassinet, or pack-and-play)

  • Keeping the sleep area clear of blankets, pillows, bumpers, and toys

  • Sharing a room, not a bed, when possible

  • Maintaining a smoke-free environment
