About Our Department

CPFD protects the City of Coopersville and Polkton Township in Ottawa County, Michigan. In total, our department provides fire and emergency services protection for about 7,200 residents, 40,000 daily commuters on I-96 within 44.1 square miles.

The Board

Fire Authority Board

The Coopersville/Polkton Fire Department was established through an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Coopersville and Polkton Township. This agreement establishes the Fire Authority as its own governmental entity, which is overseen by a board.

The board is comprised of two members from the city and two from the township, with alternate positions. The fire board meets the second Wednesday of each month starting at 7 p.m. (unless otherwise posted). The current meeting dates are as follows:
